Eyebrow/Eyelash Transplant

Eyebrow and eyelash transplants are a cosmetic surgery procedure which transfers hairs from the back of the head to the eyebrows or eyelashes. This can be used to create fuller, more defined eyebrows or lashes, but it does not work for everyone.
Eyebrows and Eyelash Transplant Procedure:
The eyebrow transplant is a 2 step procedure. First, surgeons inject a patient’s own fat cells taken from their stomach into their brow bone in order to make it look fuller. Second, they cut out hair-bearing skin from one area of the scalp and use it to create new hairs on your eyebrows. The entire process takes about 3 hours. During the second stage, surgeons remove hair-bearing skin from areas where hair still grows, such as the sides and back of the head. They then cut the skin into individual follicular units consisting of 1 to 4 hairs. The surgeon transplants these one-by-one onto your bald eyebrows.

The eyelash transplant is a 2 step procedure. First, surgeons inject a patient’s own fat cells taken from their stomach in order to make it look fuller. Second, they cut out hair-bearing skin from one area of the scalp and use it to create new eyelashes on the outside rim of the upper eyelid (near your nose). This can be done using either existing hairs or with permanent tattoos that pinpoint exactly where transplanted hairs will be placed. The entire process takes about 3 hours. During the second stage, surgeons remove hair follicles and surrounding tissue from scalp areas where hair still grows and then prepare them for implantation into the existing eyelashes.
Because eyebrow and eyelash hair is finer than scalp hair, the procedure may not work for everyone. Also, eyebrow transplant can take 3 months for transplanted hairs to start growing properly.
